Koh Rong Sanloem is the quieter sister island south of Koh Rong, about nine kilometres end to end, known for Saracen Bay's resort crescent, Lazy Beach, M'Pai Bay village, and Sunset Beach. Ferries from Sihanoukville take 40 to 60 minutes.

Where Koh Rong Sanloem sits and what is there

Saracen Bay on the east coast is the arrival point and resort strip, a two-kilometre crescent of shallow, protected water. Lazy Beach and Sunset Beach face west for open-water sunsets, M'Pai Bay in the north is the budget and dive village, and the island interior is jungle ridge.

How do you get to Koh Rong Sanloem?

Scheduled ferries from Sihanoukville serve Saracen Bay and M'Pai Bay in roughly 40 to 60 minutes. There are no cars; movement is by boat, foot trail, or the short cross-island paths between Saracen Bay and the west-coast beaches.

What is the development status?

Hospitality is boutique-scale: beach resorts on Saracen Bay, smaller operations elsewhere, with utilities largely self-provided through generators and solar. That constrains operating cost models and rewards designs planned around independent power and water from day one.

How does ownership and tenure work on Koh Rong Sanloem?

Parcels trade as long leases and company-held positions, with occasional hard-title land in village zones. Our current Sanloem mandate carries hard title with 120 metres of beachfront, which is rare for the island and priced accordingly.

Is Koh Rong Sanloem better than Koh Rong for a resort site?

It is a different case: quieter guest profile, boutique scale, and thinner infrastructure. Saracen Bay commands strong nightly rates for well-run properties, but everything from power to logistics must be self-provided, which shapes both build cost and operations.

What utilities exist on Koh Rong Sanloem?

There is no island-wide grid. Resorts run generator and solar hybrids and manage their own water and waste. Any acquisition model should carry those capital and running costs explicitly; we include them in every information pack.
